link building strategy-Avoid Kiss of Death!

I think I gave the new site the kiss of death by over promoting it through link building, so I will follow the strategy of Brian Johnson from now on.
I researched the niche, found the domain, built content and ended up no.4 in serps for a keyword with 580k broad matches.
Not being happy with the result I decided  to shoot for position no.1 by building two daily links from pr6-9 sites.
After being on page 1 of Google for a week the site disappeared from SEPRPS (though not de-indexed). I now know what Brian Johnson meant When he says “Google can be brutal” if you over promote a new site.
Slow & Steady Growth (Site Content and Inbound Links)
a. 6 posts daily to any one blog.
b. No link building for the first month of a newly launched site.
c. Very slow inbound link growth for sites which are only 2 to 3 months old. Average 3 to 5 inbound links daily but no more.

In other words the back links have to follow age of domain and number of posts in order to look natural to the search engines

New SEO Tips for 2012

With the turn of the year comes a whole host of different tips and tricks that you can use in order to optimize your page. For people who are thinking of getting their websites up to speed, there are a variety of different search engine optimization techniques that they can employ in order to make their website better. In this article, we shall discuss some of the best tips that might become extremely popular in the next year. So, read on to find some of the newest SEO tips for 2012.

Firstly, the most obvious way by which you can enhance the popularity of your website on the internet is by making use of written content. A lot of web masters generally do not pay much notice to written content, but you should know that there are certain ways that are extremely fruitful in increasing the amount of traffic to your page or for increasing the number of links to your page. If you constantly upload catchy articles with good quality content on your website, you can be sure of getting good results in a short amount of time.

Written content such as blog posts can be used to increase traffic, as well as the number of links that are leading to your page. For example, you can just include anchor text in your articles and blog posts, and this will be noted by Google. Apart from this, one of the other most important tips that you can use for search engine optimization is forum posting. Posting on different commenting forums has to be one of the major ways by which you can optimize your website carefully. There are thousands of people who talk and chat on a variety of different forums today, and if you are able to successfully integrate the links of your website on to those forums without actually causing it to look like spamming; you can certainly gain a ton of new followers.

Apart from this, you can also make use of various different methods of increasing the repute of your website, such as social bookmarking. Creating accounts on social networking websites and then promoting your website on such places is extremely easy, and if this marketing is done the right way, you can expect a windfall of new customers to your page. The best part is that all of the tips that have been mentioned above can be done by your own self only, as you do not even need to hire a SEO expert for all this. However, if you still wish, there are SEO experts that can help you in carefully planning out the optimization of your website and by ensuring that you are able to get high quality links to your page. SEO is a very lengthy process and needs to be carried out properly in order for the people to succeed, so you have to make sure that you remain patient throughout the campaign for the best results.

Article Distribution Services Are An Important Element Of Internet Marketing

As a full time internet marketer for the past five years I know as well as anyone what works in the world of making money online and what is not effective. And I believe article distribution services are one of the most effective ways of building long term income streams online.

I believe the most effective way to leverage your article marketing efforts is through the use of article distribution services such as ArticleRanks, Content Crooner, ISnare, Article Marketing Automation, & Unique Article Wizard.

I would not rely upon just one of these services (I use all five of the services I just mentioned) because you want your articles to go out to as many different types of websites as possible. By using multiple services you can expand your “link profile.”

These services spread my articles out to many websites all over the internet which greatly leverages the work that I do in writing the article in the first place. I can get hundreds of links back by writing just one article and of course all of those links help increase my search engine rankings which helps bring me visitors who are looking for whatever it is that I’m selling.

Targeted traffic is the lifeblood of any internet business. You cannot make money without getting people to your pages that are interested in what you’re selling (or what your ads are about.)

If my website is about curing acne and I have a lot of ads for acne products on my site then of course I want to show up in Google (and the other search engines) for terms such as “cure acne.” That’s what I mean by targeted traffic.

One thing I really like about some article distribution services is that they include the ability to “spin” your articles so that each article that goes up is “unique.” This helps to avoid any “duplicate content” issues.

Of course this also means you can “spin” your links back to your websites which may be even more important! This means you can get back links to many different websites with just one article (and you can spin the anchor texts too!)

In my opinion article marketing using such distribution services is the best way to build links to your landing pages and obviously building links is an essential part of any SEO strategy. This is a great way to build up long term income streams.

Article Marketing Automation and Content Crooner are two article distribution services that are recommended. Get a totally unique version of this article from our article submission service

traffic to your website?

[I:]Getting high quality traffic is probably the biggest question asked by both new and established online businesses. After all, it makes no difference if you are selling a product, promoting affiliate links, or displaying adsense – you need traffic. And loads of it. So how do you do it?
Well, you could buy advertising. Hmm. Expensive. It is easy to spend several thousands of dollars A MONTH through Google.

You could buy text links. Also expensive – and rapidly losing effectiveness in the search engines. Just 100 links can set you back upwards of $2,000. But you need THOUSANDS of links for most niches.

You could buy the “Latest and Greatest” black-hat technique – whether that be “blog and ping”, “tag and ping”, log-file spamming, blog-comment spamming, or whatever else some clever whiz-kid has come up with. The problem is, by the time the whiz-kid releases it to you, it is already past its sell-by date. Too bad, you missed the boat. And maybe you got your site banned too.

But did you know that there is one, rock-solid, technique that has been quietly working since the very beginning of the internet, is completely immune to changes in search engine algorithms, is 100% legitimate and ethical, takes very little time, and costs almost nothing?

Need your new site listed by the search engines in days rather than weeks or months? This will do it. Need top placings for organic traffic, even in highly competitive markets? This will do it.

What is more, it can even help you with the offline promotion too!

But it gets even better. Over the past year, my good friend Dr. Noel Swanson has put this method onto steroids. He has been quietly using it to build his adsense empire, AND to promote his own products, snagging the Number 1 position in Google from 270 million competing websites as he did so!

And now, having decided that it won’t hurt his own business by doing so, he is releasing this system to other smart marketers.

Link Directories

Promoting Your Website Using Niche Link Directories
By James E Marshall

Directory Submissions Today

In the early days of the Internet webmasters didn’t need to worry too much about how they would get people to visit their website. They could mass submit website links to hundreds of general web directories and see their visitor numbers rocket. These days website promotion is far more difficult, but although web directories are no longer as powerful as they once were there is still value in getting a listing in a directory directly related to your websites niche.

Directory Value

A single targeted link from a well maintained niche-specific directory is worth a hundred links from poor quality directories. Google’s own guidelines recommend that you avoid links from “bad neighborhoods” and many low quality directories are little more than “link farms” that fall into this category. You can usually identify a quality directory by inspecting the website listings that are already there. Directories with a lot of “spammy” looking websites or dead links are usually poorly maintained and unlikely to benefit your marketing efforts. However, a well edited directory in a niche related to your website will not only improve your search engine rankings but will also send you targeted direct traffic.

As an example lets assume you have a travel website that you want to promote. Although you might want to submit your link to a few, quality, general directories under an appropriate sub-category you should make it a priority to obtain listings in well edited travel-niche directories.

Get Listed Early

DMOZ (A.K.A. The Open Directory Project) directory listings have always been considered the most valuable, closely followed by those in the Yahoo! Directory. Unfortunately it’s currently extremely difficult to get accepted into DMOZ, and there is anecdotal evidence of it taking literally months to get a listing approved due to understaffing and high numbers of submissions. The Yahoo! Directory now charges an annual fee for inclusion, and while valuable if you can afford it, this places a Yahoo! listing beyond the reach of many startup websites on a budget. Interestingly though, webmasters who were lucky enough to get free links from Yahoo! some time ago enjoy grandfather rights – they still have links in the paid directory but never have to pay!

It is a common pattern that once a directory has gained popularity the owner capitalizes by charging for premium links, so it’s a good idea to get listed while a directory is still young – before it becomes popular enough to start charging for links.

Directory Submission Tips

One of the essential criteria for getting listed by a quality web directory is that your website must look professional and provide original and useful content to visitors. Directory editors can receive hundreds of link submissions every day and won’t consider poor quality websites as it harms the integrity of their directory. Before submitting your link make sure that your website is finished (not “under construction”) and well presented. It is also better to manually submit to directories, as despite the claims of some software the directories that accept automated submissions are usually of the poor quality “bad neighborhood” category.

Lists of quality niche directories can be found by performing a quick search on Google, but if you’re the owner or webmaster of a travel-related website why not submit your link for inclusion in my new SEO friendly travel directory? All quality sites will be considered for free directory listings.
